The high-ranking military officials of Iraq, Turkey and the United States have discussed the issues related to the regional security, the situation in Iraq and Syria, the Turkish Armed Forces’ General Staff said Thursday in a statement.

According to the statement, US European Command head Gen. Curtis Scaparrotti, US Central Command (CENTCOM) commander Gen. Joseph Votel, Iraqi Chief of General Staff Gen. Osman Ganimi and Turkish Chief of General Staff Gen. Hulusi Akar held talks in Ankara on Thursday.

"The sides have discussed the general security situation in the region, particularly in Iraq and Syria, and the measures which should be taken in the fight against terrorism," the statement said.
