The administration of İstanbul University launched an investigation against Communist Youth of Turkey (TKG) members attacked by a group of fascists during an anti-NATO campaign on March 13.

22 TKG members had been taken into custody by the police with a scandalous reason. The police report alleged that TKG members attacked the fascists, chanting slogans containing swear. The police let the fascists identify the so-called attacker communists at the university campus.

Some fascist groups also started a threat campaign against the communists via social media, sharing messages containing slangs and photos of the fascist students with firearms.

The University administration permits the events organised by the fascist student groups in the university, while declining the social and scientific event organisations of other student clubs.

SOLIDARITY MESSAGES FROM INTERNATIONAL COMMUNIST YOUTH

The investigations against TKG members received solidarity messages from the international communist youth. The communist youth of Greece (KNE), the communist youth union of Spain (UJCE), the United Democratic Youth (EDON), and the All Workers Militant Front (PAME) sent solidarity messages to TKG.

Their solidarity messages denounced the investigations against the communist youth of Turkey who struggle against imperialist interventions and war. They demanded the immediate withdrawal of investigations.
