Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) is to raise the voice of the working classes and socialism in the local elections dated today.
The international communist movement has been closely following and supporting the electoral campaign of the TKP from the beginning.
In its statement published on March 18th, the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) emphasized that workers, laborers, poor peasants, youth and women of the working class were not "in the same boat" with the capitalists and the bourgeois parties representing them. KKE Central Committee International Relations Department called on the people of two neighboring countries to support TKP against the exploitative system, which creates crisis, unemployment, poverty, immigration, culture and education, against nationalism and racism, against the imperialist interventions and wars of NATO and the EU, and against the bourgeois parties representing them.
The Workers' Party of Ireland also stated that TKP represents the interests of the working class in the elections and it is the only party that says the capitalist system that produces inequality, injustice, poverty, unemployment, crisis, and war should be overthrown. Irish communists sent their solidarity message to the TKP and wished success with the slogan "Do not surrender!"
Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL) from the US made a statement this week, saying the TKP is the only revolutionary force to raise the class struggle, and the campaign has been followed by the US socialists with great excitement.
Wishing success to the TKP in the local elections, PSL states that "With a list of mayoral candidates who are all workers themselves and the Party's militants out on the streets engaging with the working class and the poor all over Turkey, presenting them the program for socialism, we are confident that TKP will emerge from these elections having raised the class consciousness and won many workers to the fight for socialism".
The message sent by the central committee of the Communist Youth of Austria (KJÖ) to the Communist Youth of Turkey also called on the working class of Turkey to strengthen the position of TKP in the local elections.
"The communists in Austria and in Turkey organize the struggle to strengthen the position of the working class against the anti-popular policy of the ruling class and to overthrow their rule in the end", KJÖ's solidarity message stated.
