After the increasing tension between the US and Turkey, and Russia’s support to Turkey around town of Al Bab in northern Syria, Washington got into the act.

According to the report of Karen DeYoung and Missy Ryan from the Washington Post, the US increased intelligence support for the military operations of the Turkish Armed Forces carried out in Al-Bab region.

This move was accompanied with military and diplomatic negotiations between the US and Turkey lasting for weeks.

It is said that the US’ airstrike and military equipment support to the troops in the combat field is similar to the support given to the ‘‘local groups’’ supported by the US in Syria.

On August 24, the Turkish army launched Operation Euphrates Shield against militants of the Islamic State group. The operation has been widely criticized both by the Syrian Kurds and Damascus, who have accused Ankara for violating Syria's territorial integrity.
