Ankara is building double highways in areas in Syria captured after the operations Euphrates Shield and Olive Branch so as to interconnect the industrial zones built after the operations and Turkey’s border cities.

The double highway in construction now is reported to be a part of the projects to create a trade infrastructure in the areas “now open for trade opportunities” after the military operations.

It was also reported that the highway is planned to stretch out in long term from Syrian town Çobanbey to Syria’s Manbij city. The highway will be separated into two routes, one leading to al-Bab, the other to Jarabulus.

Turkish AKP government had seized control of several Syrian cities with the operations, one of which is al-Bab where an organised industrial zone was built by investors and Turkish and Syrian capitalists close to Ankara. Around 8 thousand Syrian capitalists located in Turkey are expected to invest in the areas the highway in question will interconnect.

Turkey had also decided to open a vocational school in Jarabulus, thus violating the sovereignty rights of Syria.

Damascus had also announced after Turkey’s Operation Olive Branch to Afrin that they considered the operation as a “violent” act, and a move of “occupation” towards Syria.
