Pervin Buldan, the co-chair of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), said that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was the one who toppled the solution table, addressing to the assembly meeting of her party HDP on February 18.

The main axis of her speech was about the so-called solution process, on which she noted "The greatest achievement of the solution process was that no lives had been lost and the mothers had not been left in tears. However, the ones who toppled the table caused the start of the conflicts. AKP government is the one who cut the solution process. Country's president is the one who toppled the solution table."

Buldan, the newly elected co-chair of the HDP, was a key figure in the so-called 'solution process' between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's AKP government and armed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and HDP in 2009 and 2015, as a part of the delegation that carried out meetings with PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, who is serving a life sentence in the İmralı island prison.

Noting that her party's congress held on February 11 demonstrated their struggle to maintain healthy channels of politics, Buldan reacted to the Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım's words "there is no solution process." Buldan said "these are the words of a person who is ignorant of the years long suffering", adding that "without solution, neither fraternity nor freedom will prevail."

In an interview with Reuters news agency on February 14, Buldan said she wants to revive a 'solution process' that collapsed three years ago, what she calls "a turning point for Turkey".

Speaking Sputnik Radio, Turkey, on February 14, Buldan left the door open to a possible alliance between HDP and the AKP government. "I cannot say anything about what will be in the future. The upcoming process will primarily focus on the removal of blocked political channels," Buldan said.

"OUR PEOPLE CLEARLY EXPRESSED THEY ARE AGAINST POLICIES OF AGGRESSION AGAINST AFRIN"

Buldan said that the attendees of her party's congress gave the message to the Turkish administration "we are on the side of HDP even though you are trying to destroy it."

Buldan noted that another message of the congress was on the ongoing Afrin operation. She said "Each and every friend at the congress and our people clearly expressed that they are against the policies of aggression against Afrin." Adding that the congress also gave a message rejecting the imprisoned PKK leader Öcalan's isolation, Buldan said "the people attending the congress chanted slogans that express Honourable Mr Öcalan is a chance for this country in terms of peace, democracy and freedom."

Turkish AKP government last month launched military operation dubbed "Olive Branch" supporting Free Syrian Army (FSA) terrorist group with ground troops and air strikes in Syria's Afrin.
