Turkey must remain in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and on its European course, Greek Prime Minister Alex Tsipras said at a joint news conference at the White House with U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday.

"We do believe Turkey must remain in NATO and on its European course. But on the other side, we have to ensure and make it clear to this ally of ours and its government that the road to Europe and collaboration with the West carries with it certain conditions," Tsipras told reporters.

"I want to confirm that the meeting we had was very productive" Tsipras also said, with Trump standing at his side.
