Erdoğan: If we do not come to an agreement with the US in two weeks, we will implement our own plan

Turkish President Tayyip Erdoğan stated that he informed the two leaders about the plan to establish a safe zone with the US in Syria after the triple summit held with the leaders of Iran and Russia.

"We told our friends here that we would begin to implement our own plan if we did not come to an agreement with the US in two weeks," he said.

Erdoğan also announced that the disagreements on the formation of the Constitutional Committee have been eliminated.

On the other hand, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani stressed that the Syrian refugees want to return to their homes, their lands. "We should make entire Syria safe so that they can return to their homes," said Rouhani.

Finally, Putin said, "As the guarantor of the Astana process, we are the three countries that support the territorial integrity of Syria. We want to accelerate political dialogue in Syria, expert-level meetings will continue. The three guarantor countries, UN experts and parties will hold meetings."

After the statements on the meeting, Erdoğan also stated that Yemen is devastated and there is need to focus on this. He said that Turkey can think about what it can do for the rebuilding and rejuvenation of Yemen.

The joint declaration issued after the summit emphasized the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Syria. The statement noted that Israel's attacks on Syria increased the tension in the region.
