After Turkey’s fraudulent presidential referendum on April 16, doctor Hülya Şen working as a family practitioner in İstanbul resigned from her office and began a march to Ankara, the capital city of Turkey for the annulment of the referendum.

Dr. Hülya Şen, who reached Yenişehir district of Bursa, a Northwestern Anatolian province of Turkey, on the third day of her protest march, was welcomed by the main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) officials Nejdet Sert (İznik District Head of CHP), Semra Cingil (District Women’s Branch Head of CHP) and several other party members.

Stating that she will finish her march at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey or in front of the Supreme Electoral Council (YSK), Hülya Şen said:

"…YSK made a decision to count the unsealed overseas votes as valid. They made different decisions every day. Such disorder and gerrymandering should not happen in a democratic constitutional state. The explanations given by the officials have further increased our concerns. I  insist that the referendum should be declared null and void. The whole society is of the same opinion with me on this. I am planning to finish my protest march in Ankara on Sunday, April 23.

After her statement, Dr Hülya Şen departed from Bursa for Bilecik, a province in mid-west Turkey.
