Five members of Communist Party of Turkey (TKP), distributing handouts inviting locals to "people's alternative is strengthening" meeting in the northwestern province of Çanakkale, were detained on Saturday.
TKP released a comprehensive public declaration on January 15, calling on the working people to get organized within the party in order to strengthen the people’s true alternative amid the political chaos in the country. Communist party organizes meetings in 15 locations around Turkey.
Mass meeting in Çanakkale is to be held on February 18.
