Strike in Asil steel factory is banned by the Council of Ministers, on the pretext that the strike is "damaging the national security". Communist Party, Turkey (CP) made a statement as follows:

The workers will definitely win, even if you ban strikes

AKP does not even make a small pause in its ongoing hostility against workers. Most recent example of this is realized this morning. The Council of Ministers hurriedly banned the strike of Asil Steel Factory workers who would go on strike this morning.

Workers of Asil Steel Factory were struggling against the wages of misery deemed proper for them by the employers. The right of strike is the only weapon in the hands of workers who work under heavy working conditions and risks of occupational murder for wages slightly above the minimum wage. Banning this right of the strike is the recent example of the fact that the reason for the very existence of AKP government is ensuring the survival of the capitalists. AKP is only for the capitalists. It is only at the service of the capitalist.

AKP also does not want to lose the support of the class which it serves. In the dust of the Constitutional change that will bring the presidency to Erdoğan, strike in a 600-employee company for wage increase is banned for this reason.

In 2015, it was again the AKP government, which banned the strike by 15 thousands of metal sector workers and saved the employers' union MESS (Turkish Employers’ Association of Metal Industries). It is inarguable that attacks of this government against the working class of Turkey will not come to an end. It is expected that the strike to be started in two days by 2200 workers in 22 enterprises represented in another employers' union EMİS (Employers' Association of Electromechanical Metal Industries) will be banned similarly.

For this reason, working class of Turkey would not only get rid of AKP government but also get rid of the class of capitalists, which sustains AKP.

Communist Party stands for the workers whose strike is banned.

The working class will not give in.
