Communist parties from around world getting ready for 100th year of October Revolution

Communist and workers' parties met for a two-day meeting of the Working Group (WG) of the 19th International Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties (IMCWP) in Moscow. Twenty-seven parties around the world participated the working group meeting on 21-22 April.

The working group meeting started with the opening speech by the President of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) Gennadi Zyuganov on 20 April. The participants of the working group discussed the preparations for the 19th IMCWP which will be held this year. The theme for the meeting is decided to be: "The 100th anniversary of the great October socialist revolution: the ideals of the communist movement, revitalising the struggle against imperialistic wars, for peace and socialism".

The 19th IMCWP will be held in November in St.Petersburg this year hosted by Russia as a commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Great October Revolution.

On the second day of the meeting, the participants of the working group joined the rally at the Red Square for visiting the tomb of Vladimir Ilich Lenin, on his 147th birthday. The meeting was closed with a dinner hosted by the CPRF.
