The Communist LGBTs of the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) has released a declaration regarding the Pride Week, calling for equal citizenship and collectively establishing a social order in order to cease exploitation.
The Communist LGBTs aims to raise class-consciousness and strengthen political organization among LGBTs, who are targets of capitalist exploitation, discrimination and reactionary violence.
Communist candidates of "This Social Order Must Change" Platform are organizing meetings with LGBTs in different provinces including İzmir and İstanbul, to discuss the social problems they encounter and to share the political agenda of the Platform towards equality and liberation.
"Today, on the fifth anniversary of Turkey’s June 2013 Uprising in which LGBTs painted the streets with colours of the rainbow, a sham ballot box is being put in front of the people. We are expected to choose between leaders with dark pasts, parties of patrons and their representatives, 'local and national' businessmen, accomplices to massacres of intellectuals. Yet, neither this social order which is nourished by discrimination, reactionism and hatred, nor candidates who are pledging to sustain this social order can provide a dignified future for everyone," the declaration, titled as "For our pride, this social order must change," said.
Turkish President Tayyip Erdoğan has called presidential and parliamentary elections for June 24. Turkey's communist party, TKP, will not be allowed to take part in the parliamentary elections. "This Social Order Must Change Platform," formed to run independent electoral candidates after the TKP was banned to run for upcoming election.
The Communist LGBTs of the TKP has called on the people to vote for This Social Order Must Change Platform.
"For a country where LGBTs are recognized as equal counterparts of the society and as citizens with equal rights,
For an end to hate crimes and for a country with safe streets for all,
For an enlightened country which is guided by reason and science,
For social solidarity to prevail,
For an order in which the family no longer functions as a social norm for the maintenance of capitalism and instead turns into a form partnership that is based only on love and free will.
We can collectively take action to establish a social order in which no one exploits another!
