Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Khalid bin Ahmed Khalifa will visit Turkey on Saturday to discuss the situation in the Middle East amid the diplomatic row with Qatar, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said.

"Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain will pay a visit to Turkey on 10 June 2017. During the visit, Minister Al Khalifa will be received by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan as well," a statement released by the ministry said.

On Monday, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt cut off diplomatic relations with Qatar, which they accused of supporting terrorism. They were later joined by the eastern-based government in divided Libya, Yemen, the Maldives, Mauritius and Mauritania. Jordan and Djibouti said they would lower the level of diplomatic contacts with Qatar, while Senegal and Chad recalled their ambassadors from Doha.
