Last Monday, January 2, a fire had started due to a leak in the molten steel department in an iron and steel plant in Aliağa district of the city of İzmir. Four workers –Selim Sağaltıcı, Cihan Karanlıkdere, Cemal Alakuş, and Musa Altınsoy– had been injured. Musa Altınsoy, who was severely injured, had died in the hospital he was taken.
Today, another of the injured workers, Selim Sağaltıcı, also died in the hospital. The body of Sağaltıcı, who was reported to have worked for the plant for 2 years, was sent to his hometown, İskenderun.
